Michael Crichton: Rising Sun
Michael Crichton writes page turning fiction wrapped around research on his current topic of interest.
This particular book is about Japanese business methods in America and Japanese culture in general. Written pre-asian stock crash it is now a little dated but it still offers an interesting insight into the Japanese mind. Is it accurate? His research is certainly thorough but you'd be naive to think it wasn't presented seectively.
This is hardly his best work but it is still a worthwhile read. If you are only going to read a one of his books my recommendation would be to tackle Timeline.
