Jack Higgins The President's Daughter

I liked The Graveyard Shift, which is the only other Jack Higgins Book I've read, but this book was a real disappointment.
Higgins has a good reputation as a writer of espionage/thriller novels. He's been in the business for a long time and has written a lot of books so maybe I need to chalk this one up to being off his game because it was totally bereft of thrills or suspense.
I can best describe it as formulaic and unimaginitve. The set-up of the story is quite good but then it just falls flat, hamstrung by this beginning.
I don't recommend this book.
