Dany Laferriere: An Aroma of Coffee
Dany Laferriere seems to write autobiographically about his childhood in Haiti. This book is a series of short recollections and observations from that time.
The writing is evocative and creates a window to a certain place and time.
Not that it needs to, but nothing really happens. Ordinarily this wouldn't be a problem buit there are vague hints and subtle staements which hint at information to come that unfortunately never arrives.
It isn't a long book so it's not a big time investment but I hesitate to recommend it unless you'd like to know about a small town in Haiti.
